The former primary gateway to Australian Government, migrated from a custom CMS into Drupal to support high-volume access to services, information and links.

To make one of Australia's highest-traffic government websites easier to scan, faster to use and more reliable.
Who
Department of Finance
Working in Australian Government Information Management Office within the central Australian Government agency, which was responsible for whole-of-government ICT, digital services and web standards. I worked with a small web-focused team, from apprentice to Whole of Government Software as a Service tech lead.
How
Design
Helped design reusable interface components so people could move through services, information and links more easily, with accessibility and usability improvements informed by user testing for a broad audience and large service catalogue.
Created supporting assets in Photoshop and Illustrator, including header imagery and iconography.
Development
Built and refined front-end components for a site receiving millions of visits a month, with focus on speed, consistency and reliability.
Helped coordinate and strategise the successful defence of the site through multiple large-scale, coordinated protest DDoS attacks — work recognised with a Department of Finance Secretary's Award for Excellence.
